ALABASTER WATER BOARD ANNOUNCES ANNUAL OPEN ENROLLMENT FOR REDUCED RATE PROGRAM
NOVEMBER 1, 2024 – DECEMBER 31, 2024
Alabaster Water Board and the City of Alabaster offer the following reduced rates for customers who qualify:
- $10 off the minimum water bill; and
- $10 base for sewer bill; and
- No charge for garbage service.
To qualify, you must meet the following:
- Have been a customer for the past year; and
- ONLY have income from Social Security Retirement or Social Security Disability; and
- Must reside in the home.
How To Apply:
- Complete an annual application either online (alabasterwater.com/reduced-rate/) or obtain one in person at 200 Kent Stone Blvd. – Current participants will be mailed an application during the month of October.
- Provide current Social Security Award Letter or Annual Statement from Social Security. If you do not have an award letter, go to ssa.gov for more information on how to obtain an award letter.
- Submit your two most recent bank statements.
- Show a valid driver’s license or state identification card.
Helpful Reminders:
- Customers receiving pension income or any income in addition to Social Security Retirement or Social Security Disability income will not be eligible for reduced rates.
- Only complete applications will be accepted for review. Incomplete applications will be returned to the customer and may be resubmitted before December 31st when complete.
Open enrollment will take place between November 1st and December 31st. Reduced rates will begin January 2025. If you are already receiving these rates, you must re-apply each year. If you do not re-apply or do not qualify anymore, the regular current published rates will begin January 2025.
